Hear Chris Stapleton's Rocking New Tune 'Second One to Know'

As Chris Stapleton gears up to release his new album, he's giving fans the chance to hear the rockin' cut "Second One to Know."

Stapleton first debuted the track to a wide audience at this year's ACM Awards. His performance stood out alongside a select few others. Around the same time, he announced new album From a Room: Volume 1.

"Second One to Know" was co-written by Chris and his former Steeldrivers bandmate Mike Henderson. Similar to Stapleton, Henderson left the band a few years back to pursue solo efforts.

But clearly the pair still click creatively. "Second One to Know" is a blistering rock tune accented by hints of blues progressions. And of course, Stapleton's guttural, gravelly vocal.

Stapleton recorded "Second One to Know" with Dave Cobb at Nashville's RCA Studio A. Hence the album title, From a Room: Volume 1. And as if it weren't a dead giveaway, that album is the first part of his two-part release strategy. The second volume also drops sometime later this year.

Stapleton toured heavily and steadily off his debut album Traveller, which skyrocketed the songwriter to international fame. After cleaning up during award seasons, he quickly became one of the most sought-after live acts.

And, as they say, there's no rest for the wicked. He releases From a Room: Volume 1 on May 5, exactly two years since he released Traveller. He's already got a whole tour lined up in support of the new record that extends all the way into November of this year.
