One company apparently got its wires crossed when a school said they needed some supplies to draw with.

As the school year kicks off, one Long Island art teacher needed supplies to execute her lesson plans. She believed that the box she received was filled with art supplies. When she opened the package on Tuesday (September 7), officials were shocked to discover that she received a supply of bullets instead.
School Receives Package of Bullets Instead of Art Supplies
New York City-based company Blick Art Materials sent the package. To the address at Eastport-South Manor Jr.-Sr. High School. District superintendent Joseph Steimel said that another teacher at the school noticed an "unfamiliar" looking box. He found the shipment of ammo inside. It was intended to be sent to a sports store (via the New York Post).
"Please be assured that at no time were any students or staff in danger. Based on the preliminary investigation, it is clear that this was a severe packaging and shipping error. Made by the external vendor or distributor," Steimel said in a statement. "The District will be making contact with the supplier to investigate exactly how this logistical error occurred and to ensure it does not happen again."
The superintendent also noted that upon the discovery of the bullets, they were immediately turned over to the police.
What is even more bizarre about this story is that Blick Art Materials is equally lost about how the mishap occurred.
"We were informed yesterday that an unopened box of ammunition, shipped from a company in Louisiana to a sporting goods store in New York, was mistakenly intermingled with one of our shipments to a school in Manorville," a company spokesperson said in a statement (via The New York Post).
They also noted that the sporting goods store is not one of their customers. They also made it clear that they do not sell any kind of ammunition.
"The sporting goods store is not a Blick customer, and the ammunition supplier in Louisiana is not a Blick vendor — Blick Art Materials does not sell, store, or package ammunition in its facilities," they added.
The investigation into the mishap is still ongoing.
