According to Dallas Fire Rescue, the accident occurred at around 3:15 PM on Abrams Road in the Lake Highlands area of Texas. Details are a little unclear, but it appears a McLaren sports car collided with a Toyota Corolla.
We don't know how the crash happened or at what speed, but the incident utterly destroyed the sports car.
The Sports Car Wreck Hit A Tree
The most shocking part of the accident is what happened after the initial impact. A report by Fox 4 suggests the sports car then collided with a tree, splitting it in half. Grizzly images from the scene make it look like the tree tore the vehicle into two pieces through the middle.
The impact was so severe that the McLarens rear end was found over 30 feet away from the front.
The driver and passenger of the sports car were pronounced dead on the scene. They have since been identified as Robert Leroy Rocha, 31, and Cristobel Flores Espino, 29.
Reports suggest the McLaren is specifically a 570S. If that's the case, the vehicle has 572 horsepower with a top speed of a staggering 204MPH! These vehicles cost a pretty penny, starting from at least $190K, and can go from 0-60 in just over three seconds.
While luxury motors like this are road-legal and meet safety requirements, crashes can result in the worst no matter what you're driving.

The Toyota Corolla fared much better in the accident, and authorities took the woman driving the vehicle to hospital with minor injuries. As previously mentioned, details on the incident are sketchy, and police have not revealed details on what led to the accident.
The Toyota is definitely a write-off, with a huge chunk taken out of the bonnet. Still, images from the scene also show the driver and passenger quarters seem relatively unaffected. The windshield and windows look intact, with the bumper and bonnet taking the brunt of the impact.
We recently reported on a YouTuber wrecking a similar vehicle to the one involved in this accident during a live stream, where reckless driving was the culprit.
