There was no over-the-top fanfare or teary speeches marking Savannah Guthrie's comeback. She kept things dignified, simple, and professional. Wearing a cheerful yellow dress, Guthrie said at the outset, per NBC News, "We are so glad you started your week with us, and it is good to be home."

Her colleague Craig Melvin, was seated next to her. Sporting a yellow tie, he supportively patted Guthrie's hand and affirmed, "Yes, it is good to have you at home." Then they swung right into a recap of the major headlines. Guthrie added, "Well, here we go, ready or not. Let's do the news."

Guthrie Was Warmly Welcomed Back by Fans

The throng standing outside the Today Show studio in New York City was enthused about seeing Savannah Guthrie again. There has been so much high-profile heartache in her personal life. The mystery surrounding Nancy Guthrie's apparent abduction is both very puzzling and gut-wrenching. After many weeks, there has evidently been no big break in the ongoing search for the 84-year-old woman.

A bit later in the broadcast, per People, Guthrie said of those standing in Rockefeller Plaza, "Some beautiful signs out there. I'm excited to see them, give them a all a hug. I've been really feeling the love so much."

She Appreciatively Thanked the Crowd

When the program's second hour started, Guthrie and a few of her Today Show colleagues went outdoors. Per the outlet, "Guthrie fought back tears as she held co-host Jenna Bush Hager's hand" and thanked people for their sincere well-wishes during her and her family's lingering ordeal.

"You guys have been so beautiful," Guthrie told them. "I've received so many letters, so much kindness to me and my whole family. We feel it. We feel your prayers."

Without doubt, not knowing the whereabouts, condition, or fate of her mom has been overwhelmingly and understandably hard for Savannah Guthrie. Nevertheless, it seemed like being back in familiar, friendly surroundings buoyed her quite a lot.
