Savannah Guthrie has announced that she plans to return to the Today Show, according to People. This comes after the search for her mother Nancy Guthrie has come to a standstill.
A Today spokesperson said that she "stopped by the studio this morning", March 5, to be with her colleagues. "While she plans to return to the show on air, she remains focused right now supporting her family and working to help bring Nancy home.", the statement continued. She did not mention a timeframe in which she planned to return.
This is the first time that Savannah Guthrie has been seen publicly since March 2. She posted an update on her Instagram feed. The image shows the bouquets of flowers around Nancy's mailbox. She wrote in the heart-wrenching caption, "We feel the love and prayers from our neighbors, from the Tucson community and from around the country. please don't stop praying and hoping with us. bring her home."
Her colleagues have voiced their support for Guthrie. Hoda Kotb, who is currently filling Guthrie's spot as a news anchor, emphasized the family nature of the broadcasting team. She said on a February 9 broadcast "We always talk about our show as a family. We are a family. I'm part of the family."

What Happened to Savannah Guthrie's Mom?
Savannah Guthrie's mom, Nancy Guthrie, was last seen on January 31 at 9:50pm. Her family reported her missing after she didn't show up to watch a virtual church service with her friends.
As per People, the FBI and the Pima County Sheriff's Office released surveillance images from Nancy's Nest video doorbell camera. They harrowingly show a masked intruder walking up to the front door of her home. Chip Massey, a former FBI hostage negotiator, noted that "Before, we were working from almost nothing... But here now we have the image of the captor. I guarantee you... there is somebody out there that knows exactly who this is."
The details are still scarce, but we know that Nancy's pacemaker was disconnected from her pacemaker monitoring app in the early hours of February 1. Many details are either confidential, or still unknown.
Since the investigation began, Savannah Guthrie has been with her siblings in Arizona, publicly campaigning for their mother's safe return.
We pray that Nancy Guthrie is safe.
