Sara Evans Mourning the Death of Professional Bull Rider Mason Lowe

Professional bull rider Mason Lowe died Tuesday (Jan. 15) after suffering injuries while competing at the National Western Stock Show & Rodeo in Denver, Colo. Country artist Sara Evans is among those who knew the 25-year-old.

Evans, who is close friends with Lowe's mother-in-law, shared a photo of Lowe on her Instagram page and shared her condolences and sadness over the tragic loss.

"Words cannot express how my heart breaks at the loss of my best friend's son-n-law," Evans wrote. "Last night he passed away in Denver, tragically, from injuries sustained while riding a bull. He was ranked #18 in the world. And married to my sweet friend's daughter. I love you all and am praying for you."

Evans also shared a link to donate to Lowe's family. All funds go to the family of Mason Lowe.

Lowe was from Evans' home state of Missouri and grew up in the small town of Exeter, Mo. He married Abby Cooper last year.

Lowe was ranked No. 18 in the world and had been a professional bull rider for seven years.
