Sammy Kershaw took to Twitter on Friday (Sept. 13) to announce that his longtime girlfriend Mendy Gregory had given birth on Sept. 11 to a seven pound baby girl named Natelia Mae Kershaw.
Baby Natelia is Kershaw's fifth child and fourth daughter. The 61-year-old country star's other children include Natelia's big sisters Emily, Erin and Sammie and a son named Brandon. Per a 2010 interview with The Boot, Kershaw also considers Ryan, a stepson from his marriage to ex-wife Kim, "my boy."
Kershaw told People that his newborn daughter is named after his grandmother Natelia and Gregory's grandmother, Mae.
"We are just as happy as can be." Kershaw wrote on Twitter. "Just has her name means, she is truly a gift from God."

The "She Don't Know She's Beautiful" singer is currently touring with Aaron Tippin and Collin Raye as part of the Roots & Boots Tour.
In other Kershaw news, his website bio says he's working on an autobiography which promises to be "as juicy as a bowl of the gumbo he loves to prepare in his Louisiana home!"
Kershaw had an exceptional career ever since his first single, "Cadillac Style." His lone number one hit in the United States and Canada, 1993's "She Don't Know She's Beautiful," fits right in with the catchy yet meaningful hits of the time. Its opening pointed to the future, borrowing from John Mellencamp before current singers ranging from "bro-country" to Americana admitted to keeping Scarecrow in heavy rotation.
