Outlaw is hitting the road in continued support of his critically acclaimed 2015 debut album, Angeleno. The deeply personal record is one of the best modern advancements of the Bakersfield sound first created by Buck Owens and Merle Haggard. His ability to combine clever storytelling, crooning vocals and indie-rock elements to create his own brand of throwback country is one that cements him an artist to watch over the next year.
Opening act Whitney Rose recently signed with Toronto’s Six Shooter Records after earning praise for her recent release, Heartbreaker of the Year. The album, which was produced by the Mavericks‘ Raul Malo, has a sound reminiscent of the great Outlaw country artists of the 1970s with a slightly whimsical feminine twist.
Although both Outlaw and Rose have their own unique aesthetics, the two are sure to create a killer combo of fresh and inspired country music you won’t want to miss.
