Part of the historic Ryman Auditorium has a brand new look thanks to a $14 million expansion project.
The former box office and lobby area has been transformed with a more modern look and the addition of some brand new attractions. Visitors who tour the landmark will now be able to view the “Soul of Nashville,” described as a “state-of-the-art theater experience” which introduces the story of the venue and features a collaborative performance from Darius Rucker, The Fisk Jubilee Singers, Sheryl Crow and Vince Gill.
“To say there is no other place like the Ryman is an understatement,” Sally Williams, Ryman Auditorium general manager, said in a press release. “The story of this building is so powerful and emotional— we needed an extraordinary way to take visitors on our nearly 125-year journey. The “Soul of Nashville” and our new exhibits do that job beautifully.”
The original 1892 auditorium was not part of the extensive project. You can find out more about the new additions to the Ryman and information on visiting the Nashville landmark at the venue’s official website.
