Chex mix is one of those snacks that just never goes out of style. You usually don't have to special request them at a party because they're such a staple, and they're full of crunchy goodness like pretzels, Chex cereal, nuts, and rye chips like roasted garlic rye chips or regular rye bagel chips. Yum!
We think rye chips are one of the best parts of Chex mix because they're so delicious and they're not super unhealthy! In the official Chex mix snack mix, the calories and nutritional value behind the entire treat, including yummy rye chips, are actually pretty impressive. Let's take a closer look.

Can You Make Your Own Chex Mix with Rye Chips?
Sure, why not? If you're watching the cholesterol or carbohydrates in your diet, you can make your own mix to cut out or add certain items. Plus, Chex Mix isn't generally gluten-free, but you could probably whip up a version that is.
Homemade Chex Mix can include everything from as many rye chips as you want (some recipes recommend Gardetto's special request garlic chips or similar varieties), to mini pretzels, to dry ranch seasoning and other dry ingredients like garlic powder or onion powder. Some recipes also call for dried Worcestershire sauce, black pepper, and salt. And, of course, you've got to include the Chex cereal!
But you could also just snack on some rye chips you've got in the cabinet if you want to cut to the chase? We won't judge.
