Rory Feek Announces First Shows Since Joey's Death

It's been over a year since Joey Feek passed away from cervical cancer. Now, her husband and musical partner is planning to take the stage once more.

Although Rory Feek previously stated he had little interest in performing without his wife, he has just announced two shows to be performed at his family farm in Pottsville, Tenn. The announcement was made by Feek during a press conference for the Music Health Alliance. He credited the nonprofit organization for helping him navigate the flood of medical bills and insurance claims that came during his wife's cancer treatments.

Now, he wants to give back to the organization with two concerts, which will mark what would have been Joey's 42nd birthday. For Rory, the event will also mark the beginning of a new chapter in his life.

"I should get onstage and see what's there," Feek said during the press conference. "What's in store? What would I say if I were up there by myself? For me it will be good because I will learn why I am supposed to be there and what the future holds."

Additional details about the concerts are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
