Ronda Rousey is gearing up for her return to the octagon. The former UFC women's champion is set to face fellow women's MMA legend Gina Carano in a one-off bout, which will be streamed live on Netflix.

For most of the build-up, Rousey has been complimentary toward Gina, often speaking of her beauty, skill, and personality. However, during a recent interview with TMZ Sports, Rousey switched gears. The "baddest woman on the planet," noted how once the bell rings, her only goal will be to "kill" Carano.
"Once they close the door, I'm going to do everything in my power to kill that chick with my bare hands, and it's up to that referee to stop me," Rousey said.
Don't take Rousey's comments the wrong way. She's not looking to start a war of words with the woman who will be standing across from her next month. Instead, she's aiming to pay respect by being the best version of herself within that cage.
"If anything," Ronda said. "I want to show her the monster that she created. I want her to be proud of it. I want her to see, like, wow, I had no idea that what I started was going to create something like this. And I want to show her what I am capable of. Whoop her ass and make her proud of me!"
Ronda Rousey Will Never Return to the WWE
When Rousey stepped away from the UFC and MMA in general, she left the door open to a potential return. In the years that followed, she successfully segued into the world of professional wrestling, becoming a star with the WWE.
However, wrestling fans, well, WWE fans specifically, are unlikely to see her make a comeback in the way MMA fans are being treated to right now.
"Yeah, [I wanted to return to the WWE after I left the first time]. I was like, 'Oh, yeah. I'll do it even better the next time.' You know?" Rousey said during an appearance on the Bertcast podcast. "But then I went back, it was like the death throes of the Vince McMahon era, and it was not what I expected. So, I'm probably not going to be going back."
In fact, we don't know if we'll ever see Rousey in an MMA ring after her fight with Carano. So, the best thing we can do is sit back and enjoy watching two pioneers of women's MMA do battle. After all, it might be our only chance.
