According to the New York Post, the incident occurred near the bassist's house in Eagle Rock, Los Angeles, on Tuesday, April 8. Jillian Shriner, who is also an author, was arrested for allegedly pointing a gun at police officers. Per ABC 7, the cops were chasing the suspects of a hit-and-run on the highway in an unrelated incident near the bassist's home.

The suspects fled into the neighborhood, trying in vain to blend in as the police helicopter watched from above. Jillian Shriner reportedly emerged from her home holding a weapon. Police say they repeatedly told Shriner to drop the gun, but she refused to do so.

She then allegedly pointed it at the officers, and they responded by shooting her in the shoulder. Emergency Services transported her to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. ABC 7 confirms that police booked Shriner for attempted murder, and she is held with a $1 Million bond.

Shriner Reportedly Ran Back Into The House After Being Shot By Police

Per a press release by the LAPD, the California Highway Patrol requested backup locating three hit-and-run suspects. One reportedly ran to the back of a residence in the 5300 block of Waldo Place. This is where they saw Shriner leave her house with a gun in her hand. She reportedly 'fled into her residence' after being shot. She later came out with another woman identified as her babysitter. A 9-millimeter handgun was later recovered from the house.

Police say that no other community members or officers were injured during the incident. Officers detained one male suspect in the hit-and-run but couldn't locate the other two. The Force Investigation Division is now looking into the incident.

Per the New York Post, the LAPD stresses that Jillian was not involved with the hit-and-run suspects. Police have reportedly released Shriner and the other woman from custody. Weezer, who were an influential rock band in the 90's have not yet released a statement.
