Bret Michaels has a health update for us after months of sporadic cancellations. As reported by Billboard, he's prepping to get back to the road.
In case you missed it, the legendary rock star was suffering with kidney stones. As we reported on when it happened, a press release at the time explained that he had undergone surgery, and flashily announced, "BRET MICHAELS INSTRUCTED BY DOCTORS TO TAKE 3 TO 4 WEEKS OF POST-OP RECUPERATION UNTIL STENT IS REMOVED FOLLOWING IMMEDIATE COMPLICATED OBSTRUCTING KIDNEY STONE SURGERY".
After those three to four weeks, he started back on his tour. However, this wasn't the end of his woes. In late August, he had to be pulled off of his tour again, because of complications surrounding the surgery.
As we also reported on when it happened, the rock star released a statement on social media about what was happening. His team wrote, "Following Bret Michaels' comeback show at The Bowl at Sugar Hill, doctors and paramedics determined immediately after the show that he still needs additional rest and recovery from his recent surgeries." They had cancelled all of his shows for the rest of the year.
They added, "He wanted to attempt this show, but we feel there is a much-needed period of rest and slow recovery ahead. Especially considering the heat and humidity during the summer months and the effect it can have on his blood sugar levels".

The Rock Star Issued a Health Update
But now, the rock star has released yet another statement about his plans to return to the road.
He announced that he intends to get back up and running by the end of this year. He teased some shows - the dates are as follows:
- Founders Square Ampitheater, Portage, Ind. - October 16 (rescheduled from August 7)
- Island Resort and Casino, Harris, Mich. - November 13, 14.
The rock star also teased about his grand return, "Just like now, setting a goal to come back and rock the stage for a few special shows, and truly hoping to see an all-original Poison reunion in either 2027 or 2028, depending on how things go health-wise."
