Jackson's daughter-in-law, Danni Wong, shared further details about the fatal incident on social media.
She explained that her father-in-law was transporting members of Hill's band northbound on I-25 when he suffered a medical emergency.
The crash occurred at approximately 2:20 a.m. near milepost 7.6 in Laramie County.
According to Wong, the family has yet to determine the exact medical event that caused Jackson's death, although the autopsy revealed previously unknown health issues.
The family learned that Jackson had atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, a condition they were unaware of before the crash. He also had epilepsy.
Wong added that paramedics pronounced Jackson dead after arriving at the crash scene.
Wyoming Highway Patrol Continues Investigation Into Fatal Crash
On Tuesday, Wyoming Highway Patrol confirmed that investigators had identified a possible medical condition as a contributing factor in the crash.
However, spokesperson Aaron Brown emphasized that the investigation remains ongoing.
Ten people, including Jackson, were reportedly traveling in the 2024 Freightliner M2 when the vehicle overturned. No other vehicles were involved.
Four passengers suffered injuries, while Jackson was the only person who died in the incident.
Jackson was driving for Sawyer Hill, who had performed a sold-out show in Denver on October 13. The band was traveling to Salt Lake City for its next scheduled performance on October 14.
"It was a terrifying experience for everyone on board, myself included, and we are devastated to share that our driver lost his life," Hill said in a statement.
"Several members of our band and crew were also injured."
Jackson's family said he had dedicated much of his life to the music industry, working as a tour manager, band manager and tour bus driver.
