Caleb Shomo has made a huge announcement regarding his personal life. After 14 years of marriage to Fleur Shomo, Caleb has come out as gay. He made the announcement via his personal Instagram account.

"There's been a lot of speculation surrounding my personal life as of late and I feel compelled to set the record straight before it affects those I love any further," Caleb wrote. "I am a proudly gay man."
The Beartooth singer then went on to explain how he's been working through his emotions and feelings for multiple years.
"This is something I've been unpacking and reckoning with in my life for quite some time now," the statement continued. "It's been difficult to navigate the feelings surrounding the subject and figure out what to do with this fact."
Later in the statement, Caleb explained how he spent years trying to "bury" his feelings with alcohol. However, he noted that upon exploring his feelings, he found himself.
"I spent a decade burying feelings with alcohol, and honestly, when I decided to put it down and focus on exploring why I felt this way for so long, it's been a direct path to me reconciling with my sexuality in hopes that it will eventually lead to my experiencing self-love."
Fleur Shomo Also Released a Statement on Instagram
Shortly after Caleb's post, Fleur also released a short statement. She noted how she'd watched Caleb battle with his emotions over the years, and the questions she's faced throughout that time.
"To see the confusion and pain he went through and the highs and lows and wanting to help but not knowing how," Fleur wrote. "You never want anything more for your person than for them to just be ok."
As the statement continued, Fleur spoke fondly of her marriage to Caleb and her love for him. She was also honest regarding the pain that their separation had brought her. However, Fleur's words were those of someone who supported a loved one's choice.
"Our nearly 14yrs of marriage was wonderful and full of so much fun, adventure & love," she wrote. "Nobody will know anything about our marriage like we do. And no one can ever truly know what depths of love exist between two people unless they are those people. I already miss it & my husband more than anything. Our story was a good one. And now it's done."
Caleb and Fleur have been married since 2012. The couple does not share any children together. While they're navigating a painful life transition, it's clear they still love each other and will continue to support each other in the coming months and years.
