A beloved rock musician has some sad news to share with fans. He has stage 4 cancer. John Huff of the band The Color Fred confirmed that he is battling stage 4 cancer.

"Hey everybody, just wanted to give a quick update with all this cancer stuff," He
shared to Facebook. "I have stage 4 melanoma, which just kind of popped up about a month ago. I woke up with a swollen armpit and my lymph nodes were pretty huge."He said that he woke one morning to notice a large knot in his armpit. He went to the hospital.
"So I got an ultrasound there at the Philly VA," he said. "They said it was the lymph nodes, and sent me to a cancer doctor. They told me I had lymphoma which sucked, but it's a more beatable cancer than melanoma. But eventually we found out that it's melanoma, and what makes it stage 4 is the fact that it's spread to my lung, my gallbladder, my left foot, and to over 20 different lymph nodes at this point."
Rock Musician Diagnosed with Cancer
The rock musician is now preparing to undergo immunotherapy treatments. He's hopeful that this will beat the cancer.
"You know if you Google this stuff, the odds aren't great, but I'm going to beat it," he said. "It's scary but got to beat it. That's it. Being younger, 39 is young for cancer patients. I'm nervous about it. It's scary. Got to kick this things ass so I can watch my little girl."
Following the diagnosis, a sister of the rock musician launched a GoFundMe to help with expenses.
"Just wanted to say thanks to everybody," he said. "That GoFundMe my sister put up reached its goal in like 0 hours. You guys are crazy. I love you all. Thank you so much. I'm not able to teach lessons at the moment. Hopefully, I can get back to it sooner than later, but with all the swelling, the lymph nodes, I can play drums, but six or seven hours a day is a bit much right now."
