Ozzy Osbourne is set to be resurrected as an AI avatar. That's right, the Prince of Darkness will be coming back to your screens. Sharon and Jack Osbourne recently made the announcement at the Licensing Expo in Las Vegas.

"It's kind of scary how it's really very accurate," Jack said. "He will exist digitally as himself for as long as we have computers. Technology has come such a long way to where it's almost drag and drop. You could shoot a template for a commercial ... literally prompt what you want Digital Ozzy to do in that commercial and you just drop it in. It's that simple now."
According to Hyperreal, which is self-described as a "human technology company," the avatar will be able to hold conversations with fans. The avatar is also expected to be capable of moving, speaking, and responding just like the rock legend would.
"Every element of this avatar was built exclusively from authenticated, approved source material: curated, consented, and controlled by the people who love him most," Hyperreal CEO Remington Scott said in a statement, via Billboard. "This is a living performance, not a rendering, and it draws from nothing that wasn't given willingly. We have the enthusiastic participation of Ozzy's family, and that changes everything about what this can be."
Ozzy Osbourne Died in 2025
Ozzy Osbourne sadly passed away on July 22, 2025. His death came just 17 days after his final show, which took place in his hometown of Birmingham, England. Osbourne headlined Villa Park, with thousands of fans watching his farewell gig.
Since his death, the city of Birmingham has been awash with tributes for Osbourne. There's a commemorative bench sitting along the Broad Street area of the city. The bridge behind it, which crosses one of the city's many canals, has also been renamed "Black Sabbath Bridge."
Furthermore, there's a long piece of street art near the Grand Central train station.
His family has been to view both tributes to their late husband and father.
His loss has been mourned by the entire world, and that likely means an AI avatar is a risky move. After all, many would want Osbourne to rest in peace.
