Teddi Mellencamp has opened up about her split with her boyfriend PJ Conley. As reported by People, this comes amid her recovery from Stage 4 cancer in her lungs and brain.
She opened up about her experience in an episode of the Two Ts In a Pod podcast. The Real Housewives alum explained that she had broken up with Conley just the night before filming - and it came over dinner. Everyone knows that one moment when you know a relationship's over, after all...
"We had a really good time at dinner," she recalled, "and then after dinner he's like, 'Should we talk?' You know, about the future."
"And I was like, 'I kind of just talk day-to-day, to be perfectly honest.' Like, I don't know if I'm going to be alive in the future," she revealed. Of course, given her recent battle with cancer and ongoing treatment, it makes sense she views things ephemerally like this.
They had been dating for just four months - but Mellencamp truly believed she had "a deep connection" with him. "Four months for me is such a long time," she explained. "Because I am living in this very weird state of my life where I don't know myself anymore."
He went on to say that he just simply didn't see her in his future - something that would make even the most stoic person weep.

This Comes After Mellencamp Has Been Battling Cancer
This unfortunate news comes amid weeks of testing for Mellencamp. While she was recently cleared for her stage 4 cancer, she is still undergoing immunotherapy for it, per Bravo TV.
One of the more heartbreaking experiences for the rock icon's daughter, following several brain surgeries to cut out the tumors, is that she continues to struggle with basic activities including writing, remembering numbers, and seeing clearly.
We reported on it when she opened up about her heartbreaking day-to-day life.
"I'm not good with numbers. I can't write. It's hard for me to see," Mellencamp revealed. "All post-having-my-brain surgeries. That being said, I don't want to keep feeling sorry for myself because that is what's happening, and then I quit. So, I just want to feel okay being back in my skin again."
