Rock Icon Raises Eyebrows After Appearing to Talk to Chat Bot on Social Media

Despite the internet as we know it being around for over 30 years, some of us, including rock stars, are still learning how it works.

Despite the internet as we know it being around for over 30 years, some of us are still learning how it works. Even Mötley Crüe frontman Vince Neil.

The rock star caused himself some embarrassment over the weekend when he left a message for an AI bot on the social media platform Threads. While that in itself isn't that awkward, the fact that it posts adult AI content is.

The Mötley Crüe Frontman Is Probably Using Palm Against Forehead Emoji Right Now

The bizarre moment occurred on Friday, Aug. 7. Neil responded to an account using the handle @alicia750497 with "hi love."

Again, not that big of a deal. But head over to the profile of @alicia750497, and you'll see plenty of NSFW content. (Consider this your warning if you're at the office.) And to add to the cringiness of it all, the content features AI-generated content, not real people.

It took three hours for the 65-year-old Neil to realize what he did, so Threads users had plenty to say about his online faux pas.

What Did Users Say to Vince Neil?

Users didn't go easy on Neil. And they used plenty of Mötley Crüe puns to make sure he got the message.

One fan wrote, "vincent mi boy the girls girls girls are not supposed to be generated via data center."

Another pleaded, "Dr. Feelgood please help him."

To make matters worse, this isn't the first time this has happened. Back in June, Neil supposedly fell for another AI thirst trap on X.

Fans found Neil replying to a user named "Britney Bellaire." The post had an AI-generated image of a woman promoting sex work. The post asked, "can I DM you the nudy version?"

Neil replied with a "yea."

Fans then had to step in to get the Mötley Crüe frontman's one-track mind going in a different direction. One even begged him to at least switch accounts if he was going to try to pull this off. "VINCE STOP GOONING LIL BRU EVERYONE CAN SEE IT."
