"It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our dear friend and bandmate, Bobby Pickett, bassist and vocalist for Detective," the statement read. "Bobby was an extraordinary musician whose talent, creativity, and musicianship earned the admiration and respect of everyone who had the privilege of working with him. But beyond his remarkable abilities as a bassist and vocalist, it was Bobby's character that truly set him apart."
The band's post continued by praising Bobby's personality and the impact he had on the band's success.
"He was a man of integrity, kindness, and quiet strength, qualities that earned him not only the respect of his fellow band members but also their genuine affection and friendship," the statement continued. "The music we created together will always be part of Bobby's legacy, but it is the man behind the music whom we will remember most."
Detective's statement wrapped up by reminding the world that Bobby's memory will live on with the group.
"Rest in peace, Bobby. Your music lives on as will our memories of you," the statement continued. "Your bandmates in Detective"

"Wow, this is a huge shock...did a little stint with Bobby in a band called The Secrets for a couple months way back. He was phenomenal to play with...rest easy now," one fan wrote in the comments section.
Another fan recalled meeting Bobby a few years ago, and the kind impression he left on them.
"I met him on on a cruise ship with the cafe R&b," the fan wrote. "The legendary rhythm and blues cruise I believe it was 2010.. he was a really nice guy we've had several conversations on Facebook. This came as a shock rip."
