The Los Angeles-based pop-rock group shared the disappointing news over Instagram.
"Unfortunately, due to an ongoing health issue within the band, we need to cancel the remaining 8 shows of our tour,' the band wrote. "We are very sorry to have to do this. Please get a refund at point of purchase, and we look forward to coming back soon!"
What Happened to Badflower?
The "Ghost" band's lead singer, Josh Katz, has been struggling with vocal issues during group's current tour. During a Feb. 27 show in Salt Lake City, he stopped the show early. He then told the crowd he was ending the tour.
Then, after his initial announcement, Katz posted a
video update from a doctor's office on March 2, saying he was changing his mind."I had a full-on breakdown onstage at the last show," Katz explained. "I sort of announced to the crowd I'm done with this tour 'cause I'm so stressed out with this voice thing."
He added, "It's messing me up on a mental health level, I think a lot more than it is on a physical level. It's not knowing what's wrong and not knowing exactly what type of performance I'm gonna get. I don't know until that first note onstage, and then I have an hour-and-a-half of a show in front of a thousand people or more to carry. The pressure is a bit too much."
"The important thing for me, right now, is that mentally I feel supported," Katz said. "Certainly enough to continue with this tour and continue my career."
While the band did attempt to push through with whatever was plaguing Katz, it wasn't enough to keep the tour going. It's unclear what has been causing Katz's vocal issues.
Fans Have Been Understanding
Fans have flooded the comment section with messages of support for Katz.
"Thank you SO much for cancelling and being a good example of how to take care of yourself and your mental health first," said one user. "As someone that loves y'all and had plans to go to the Huntsville show, I am proud of the band for band doing this. So much love."
Another added, "I'm happy y'all decided to put your health first," echoes another. "You've done so much to stay on tour and made it very far!"
