Thankfully, this age-old problem now has a modern solution.
Introducing the World's First AI-Powered Robot Toilet
Earlier this year, the company Yueban introduced the Xiaoban at the Shanghai International Aged Care, Assistive Devices, and Rehabilitation Medical Expo.
As Vice reports, the device is an AI-powered autonomous robot marketed to people with disabilities, those with limited mobility, or those who just don't want to walk to the restroom. Essentially, the toilet comes to the user.
No more fumbling for a light switch in your restroom or, worse, realizing you forgot to put the seat down and put your cheeks on a cold toilet. As we keep waiting for world peace or a cure for the common cold, this device will certainly tide us over until then.
How Much Does It Cost?
The toilet works just like a Roomba. It uses an AI-powered 3D Obstacle Avoidance System to avoid obstacles on the floor. Then, after you flush, it returns to its docking station unassisted.
Cleaning is a breeze, too. The Xiaoban's docking station is hooked up to your existing plumbing. Everything in the bowl is run through a low-noise grinder and flushed out. The bowl then cleans itself using pressurized water jets, UV light, and a foam shield with activated-charcoal filters.
And if you have $13,000 to flush down the drain, the Xiaoban can be yours. However, it is currently only available in China. No international release has been shared.
To be fair, this toilet isn't meant to be a luxury item. It's targeted toward those with health and mobility issues. While the price is high, $13,000 seems like a small price to pay to avoid living in a nursing home.
