The manner in which AI should be used is being furiously debated now. Like many emerging technologies, it has evolved much faster than legislation, protocols, and guardrails have to keep it in reasonable check. For celebrities, AI poses unique challenges. Their images and voices can be appropriated for commercial or artistic use without their permission. Maybe even without their knowledge. That can be very troublesome. In fact, the late Robin Williams' daughter, Zelda, is blasting an AI-created video that allegedly uses her dad's image and voice. The reported subject of the video is conspiracy theories. She was exceedingly blunt in her criticism.

Williams even went so far as to resurface Robin Williams' Instagram account, per Variety. She reportedly did so in collaboration with her siblings Cody and Zak. The supposed reason was "fight back against rampant AI abuse of his voice and likeness on here." The three Williams children also wanted to honor their talented father.
"That Voice Is Robotic and Terrible"
Zelda Williams came out swinging. She railed against what she considers a bogus AI video of her famous father. He was an Academy Award winner for his role in Good Will Hunting, Robin Williams died in 2014 at the age of 63. On Monday, September 21, Williams wrote an Instagram story. It made her opinion of the AI video piercingly clear.
"For those still being duped by falsehoods, that supposedly 'private video' of dad that I've been shown talking about conspiracies is clearly Al, and not even particularly convincing Al. Anyone who claims to be a fan who believes it clearly listened to his movies on mute because that voice is robotic and terrible."

Williams is also very disturbed something else. This video allegedly makes it look like Robin Williams said something that he did not. "That said, a human made a robot to create it, and to you I say: leave him out of your delusional [expletive] and let him rest." Furthermore, Zelda Williams added this. "If you cannot make your case without making a dead man make it more convincing for you, then tell me: who's the one manipulating the public thru media now?"
"Just because he's gone does not mean he's now your puppet," Williams also wrote. "Have some shame."
