We're a little prone to sensationalism here in the media, and we do like to blow things out of proportion. As stories get passed down the pipeline, new additions get thrown in, and mild situations become spicy.

Riley Green has recently had a good laugh at a rather mundane incident on a hunting trip that got massively exaggerated. Despite what the headlines reported, the injury was actually very minor.
The hunting accident that happened required a trip to the emergency room. However, when people read 'hunting accident,' their mind usually goes to guns. This was just a nail through the boot and a quick tetanus jab.
The video he shared from the hospital revealed what had happened. "At the emergency room, 'cuz I stepped on a nail, impaled my foot, and when I took my boot off, corn fell all over the floor." Riley Green said after his hunting accident. "The lady came in here wanting to know where all the corn came from. It's from my boot; you don't want me to take this other one off, either. Real world problems."
Media Picked Up The Riley Green Story And Ran With It
Riley Green was amazed at how his simple hunting accident injury snowballed into a sensation. He was recently quizzed on the small wound during an appearance on Pure Country Radio. Of course, he was much better by this point. However, the uproar it had caused made him chuckle.
"It was really not that bad. I was hunting in Ohio, and I stepped on a nail, and it snowed, and so... I went to the hospital to get a shot, a tetanus shot," he said. "But there was an article that came out that said it was 'impaled.' Which sounds awful, and it said I was hospitalized, which is very different from going to the hospital. But I'm fine."
I love that the small nail in his foot had turned from a quick trip to the hospital to Riley Green being impaled during a hunting accident. It brings all sorts of horrific images to mind when it was really just a small incident.
