Riley Green must be the most eligible guy in country music right now. His career is soaring. In fact, the handsome "Worst Way" singer just ended a multi-episode stint on the popular Yellowstone spinoff Marshals on CBS. That brought him plenty of acting cred. Green is also poised to be a coach on the next season of The Voice. Nevertheless, despite all the success and hoopla, he went to the ACM Awards in Las Vegas on Sunday, May 17 all by himself. How come there was no lovely lady on Riley Green's arm that night?

Green Referenced ACM Host Shania Twain
When chatting with Extra TV about why he was on his own at the gala music event, Green cracked wise a bit. He said, "No [I didn't bring a date]. Well, Shania Twain's here, so I'm not bringing a date to this," Of course, Twain is not available. She's been married to Frédéric Thiébaud for 15 years.
Even so, Green clearly has immense professional admiration for her. Twain has been in the stratosphere of fame since her album Come On Over dropped almost 30 years ago. Many of the songs from it became beloved classics like "Man! I Feel Like a Woman!" and "From This Moment On."
Green rhapsodized to the outlet about Shania Twain's abundant talent. "The level of stardom that she got to... and you know, it's tough for a female artist. You got all these guy country singers out there, and for her to get to the place she was... There's not a lot of larger-than-life figures. Dolly [Parton], Reba [McEntire], Shania's up there with them. So it's awesome that she's here to be a part of this and we can kind of re-share some of that with the younger generation that's watching."
He Snagged an ACM Award
Green did not go home empty-handed. He won Music Event of the Year for his duet with Ella Langley, "Don't Mind If I Do." Their previous duet, "You Look Like You Love Me," was a huge smash. The video was also memorable for its vivid recreation of a Wild West saloon. And for Langley's perfect portrayal of a sassy lass!
