That revelation comes days after the 54-year-old Cruel Intentions star was arrested in New York City on Oct. 11 after allegedly assaulting multiple people on a Delta Airlines flight.

Selma Blair Used Alcohol To Help Her Get To Sleep

Blair spoke about her relationship with alcohol on a recent episode of The Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg Show, which was recorded before the star's arrest.

Blair told host Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg that even when she was young, she drank to help ease her headache symptoms, anxiety, and nerve pain. Alcohol also helped her fall asleep.

"But then, you know, one glass isn't enough," she explained. "Two glasses isn't great. Three is better. Four is horrible."

She added, "And when you're depressed, that is never going to be a good solution. And I was just always feeling tired and depressed, and that was horrible."

Blair added that while she doesn't live a "sober sober lifestyle," she knows that drinking is something she "cannot do."

"I wish I could be someone that could have two glasses of wine and just be flirty and fun and listen better," she said. "I'm still a human being, but I recognize that alcohol is not good medicine for me."

Blair's Lawyer Said the Assault Was Not "Intentional"

Blair reportedly attempted to open the plane's door while in flight, leading to her arrest earlier this month. She allegedly punched one attendant and bit another who tried to stop her before things were brought under control. She also allegedly kicked an officer and a nurse after being removed from the plane.

The actress then appeared in court on Oct. 12. She is facing two counts of second-degree assault, according to court documents. Blair pleaded not guilty and was released on bail. She is expected back in court on Jan. 19, 2027.

"This was not an intentional assault," said Blair's attorney, Shawn Barnes. "Ms. Blair missed several doses of... a powerful medication that controls severe neurological symptoms. Ms. Blair boarded this flight after being on set and working extensive hours and exhaustive hours in the days leading up to this flight.

"Additionally, at one point during the flight, there was an incident where Ms. Blair actually fell and hit her head. These factors, coupled with the altitude, resulted in a state of severe confusion and disorientation."
