Reba Unexpectedly Covers Dua Lipa Hit During A Performance

Reba, one of the queens of country, pulled an unexpected move at one of her performances when she covered Dua Lipa's "Don't Start Now."

The worlds of pop and country are slowly colliding, to the panic of many country purists out there. First, Beyoncé won an award for her country album, and now Reba is performing pop? What's next? Dolly Parton collabs with Sabrina Carpenter?

Oh, seems they're ahead of me on that one.

The worlds are colliding as country becomes more mainstream, but Reba performing pop at a concert was really an unexpected twist. She was performing in Plant City, Florida, on Friday night, when she thought to surprise her concert-goers with a pop cover.

Some embraced the cover, I mean it's not every day that you'll see a country legend like Reba sing a Dua Lipa song. Others didn't think she did well, however, and are pleading with her to stick to country. The cover itself isn't so bad, and has a slight country twang.

But honestly, I don't think the song is a right one for her.

Reba has been open about her respect for Dua Lipa before, so maybe this was more of a tribute to the singer.

Someone recorded the moment and threw it to TikTok. You can watch the cover below.

Fans React To Reba Covering Pop

There are some very polarized opinions on her covering the Dua Lipa hit. Some enjoy the one-off performance, but others didn't think she did a good job. They took to the comments to share their thoughts.

"Reba I love you but no," one fan shut down.

"Reba is so talented. I can't believe I'm saying this but Reba never do that again," slammed another.

"Reba is the QUEEN and I love her to death, but sadly, this is not it..pains me to say it," another resigned.

"Stick to country music honey!" exclaimed someone else.

"Y'all paying for karaoke?" sarcastically questioned one more.

As you can see, some reviews are rather scathing. Other Reba fans, however, have her back.

"Yall are insufferable. God forbid an artist do a fun silly little cover at their shows," wrote one.

"Guys she's just having fun she probably really likes the song. Not everything has to be a masterpiece, music is supposed to be fun!" argued another.

"This is an iconic crossover idk why yall are hating," commented another fan.

"Go Reba! Why isn't anyone getting hyped up, though? This woman is beautiful, classy, and talented," praised one more.
