Reba McEntire looks toward another country legend in her latest release, the heartbreaking "Tammy Wynette Kind of Pain."

The song, from McEntire's forthcoming album Stronger Than the Truthfollows a woman in the aftermath of a broken relationship who's dealing with a heartache stronger than she's ever felt before.

"Standin' by your man, That's a broken plan," McEntire sings. "When he breaks your heart and all your trust with his two cheatin' hands."

The song, written by Brandy Clark, Mark Narmore and Shelley Skidmore, makes several references to classic Tammy Wynette songs, from "D-I-V-O-R-C-E" to "Golden Ring."

"Tammy Wynette Kind of Pain" is the fourth release from Stronger Than the Truth (out on April 5 via Big Machine Records), following "No U in Oklahoma," "In His Mind" and the album's title track.

McEntire will host the Academy of Country Music awards on April 7.

'Tammy Wynette Kind of Pain' Lyrics:

This ain't a little mascara runnin' down my cheek
This ain't a little scratch that'll heal in a couple of weeks
This is more than a little smile I'm having to fake
This ain't no little girl heartache

Standin' by your man
That's a broken plan
When he breaks your heart and all your trust
With his two cheatin' hands
So it's D-I-V-O-R-C-E
And you don't want him to see you cryin'
So you're cryin' in the rain
This is Tammy Wynette
We're talkin' Tammy Wynette kind of pain

There's a sky full of tears in every single note
And every single word is wine and whiskey soaked
So I guess it's me and her together in this alone
'Til I can make it on my own

Standin' by your man
That's a broken plan
When he breaks your heart and all your trust
With his two cheatin' hands
So it's D-I-V-O-R-C-E
And you don't want him to see you cryin'
So you're cryin' in the rain
This is Tammy Wynette
We're talkin' Tammy Wynette kind of pain

Standin' by your man
That's a broken plan
When he breaks your heart and all your trust
With his two cheatin' hands
And it's D-I-V-O-R-C-E
Means his golden wedding ring don't mean a thing
This is Tammy Wynette, This is Tammy Wynette
We're talkin' Tammy Wynette kind of pain
