Hear Reba McEntire Revisit Her Roots with 'No U in Oklahoma'

Reba McEntire climbed the charts back in 1990 with the Vince Gill collaboration "Oklahoma Swing." Now the country superstar is back with another swinging song that pays homage to her Oklahoma roots.

"No U in Oklahoma" is a classic Western swing tune about a woman who finds solace (and some clever turns of phrase) in Oklahoma after an endless string of heartaches brought on by her ex.

"You put the 'T' for tears in Texas/ 'S' for sad in St. Louis/ Our reckless travels led us to the state of Missouri," McEntire sings. "I cried clear 'cross Carolina about some boy in Tennessee/ There's no 'u' in Oklahoma/ And that's OK with me."

The song, written by McEntire, Ronnie Dunn and Donna McSpadden, is the latest release from McEntire's forthcoming album Stronger Than the Truth, which will be released on April 5.

In a statement, McEntire said Stronger Than the Truth is a return to her musical roots.

"When I started selecting songs for this album, I stuck with that same formula — go with the songs that touch my heart, and hopefully when you hear me singing it, they'll touch yours too," McEntire said in a statement. "I grew up on an 8,000-acre family ranch singing at dance halls, honky-tonks and rodeos with my brother and sister. I haven't gotten to do that in a while, so I'm thrilled to pieces."

McEntire will host the Academy of Country Music Awards on April 7.

'No U in Oklahoma' Lyrics:

Well my daddy said the day he met you
We weren't meant to be
He said that boy's got a wild streak in him
and that spelled trouble for me
My foolish heart had love to burn
You took it for a ride
Down a long road of twists and turns, heartaches, hurt and lies

You put the 'T' for tears in Texas
'S' for sad in St. Louis
Our reckless travels led us to the state of Missouri
I cried clear 'cross Carolina
about some boy in Tennessee
There's no 'u' in Oklahoma
And that's OK with me

We tried K.C., Fort Worth, Reno, Cheyenne, Timbuktu
Somewhere down 'round Tupelo, my daddy's words rang true
I called it quits in T-town
I finally had my say
"Adios, see you around. I'm gone. You go your way"

You put the 'T' for tears in Texas
'S' for sad in St. Louis
Our reckless travels led us to the state of Missouri
I cried clear 'cross Carolina
about some boy in Tennessee
There's no 'u' in Oklahoma
And that's OK with me

You put the 'T' for tears in Texas
'S' for sad in St. Louis
Our reckless travels led us to the state of Missouri
I cried clear 'cross Carolina
about some boy in Tennessee
There's no 'u' in Oklahoma
And that's OK with me

Oh there's no 'u' in Oklahoma
And that's OK with me
