After 26 years of marriage, Reba McEntire is separating from her husband, Narvel Blackstock.
The couple did not use the word "divorce" in the statement they released Aug. 3; but they do state it's the "end of their marriage". According to Reba's website, she and her husband have been separated several months and are asking for the public to respect their privacy.
Blackstock is and will remain Reba's manager. The two have worked together for 35 years and have no intention of letting the separation affect their partnership.
Before Blackstock became Reba's manager, he was a steel guitar player in her band in the 80s. The two married in 1989 and upon returning home from their honeymoon, Reba discovered she was pregnant. Their only child together, Shelby, is an Indy race car driver. Blackstock also brought three children to the marriage including his son Brandon, who is now married to Kelly Clarkson and is also an artist manager.
Reba and Blackstock have also forayed into television together. The two co-produced Malibu Country, a short-lived sitcom. In the 90s, Blackstock produced three made-for-TV movies, in which Reba starred.
This year, Reba has made a musical comeback with her 27th studio album, her first in five years. "Going Out Like That" is the first single off Love Somebody.
Over the course of her four-decade-long career, Reba has sold 56 million albums and 35 number one hits. But the icon isn't ready to hang up the spurs yet. She admitted to having doubts and insecurities but is thrilled fans are receiving her new album so well.
Reba just wrapped up a series of shows with Brooks and Dunn in Las Vegas at Caesar's Palace. Their residency at the legendary casino will resume in December.
