Indeed, Vanderpump Rules star Jax Taylor is itching to be free of the shackles of marriage. Two years after announcing that he and his estranged wife, fellow reality TV personality Brittany Cartwright, were divorcing, Taylor is beyond ready to be single and ready to mingle.

According to TMZ, the 47-year-old filed court documents asking a judge to declare him legally single as the former couple works out other issues surrounding their divorce.

"Taylor respectfully requests that this court grant his request for a bifurcated judgment on marital status only," the reality star's attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan, wrote in court documents obtained on Oct. 13 by Us Weekly. "It is clear that this marriage is beyond repair and that no one will benefit by keeping the parties bound to one another as husband and wife. Moreover, [Taylor] would like the freedom to move forward with his life as a single person, and we assume [Cartwright] would like the same opportunity."

Kaplan added that Taylor was "well within his rights to seek an immediate dissolution of marital status."

"Nearly two years have passed since the case commenced with minimal case progression, and no set trial date, leaving [Taylor] with no clear path toward resolution and a justified desire to seek an alternate route to divorce," court documents go on to claim. "Accordingly, [Taylor] respectfully requests that this court grant his request for order in its entirety and declare him legally divorced from [Cartwright]."

Jax Taylor Reportedly Tells Judge, "I Desire to be Divorced Now"

Meanwhile, the reality star himself reportedly pleaded with the judge to be legally single again.

"I desire to be divorced now. I would like to move on with my life and to do so as an unmarried person," Taylor told the court, per TMZ.

The former couple shares one child, a 5-year-old son named Cruz. They filed for divorce back in 2024 following five years of marriage.

Despite allegations that Cartwright is dragging the divorce proceedings down, an alleged insider insists that's not the case.

"Brittany has participated in this process in good faith and remains committed to reaching a fair resolution for everyone involved, especially their son," a source allegedly close to the situation told Us Weekly of the 37-year-old.

For his part, Taylor appears to be enjoying being single, whether it's legal on paper or not. He's reportedly dating Lori Krebs... his former publicist.
