Police said they did not suspect any foul play and added that, although the death was initially treated as unexplained, there were no suspicious circumstances.

Paul's final Instagram post, shared in 2020, paid tribute to his sister.

"This will be my last post her," he wrote. "May those who know feel shame for eternity. Love you Caroline."

At the time of Caroline's death, she was in a relationship with former semi-professional tennis player Lewis Burton.

She had been accused of assaulting him following an argument at her north London home.

Caroline admitted to hitting Lewis, with him saying that when he threatened to call the police, she became distressed and injured herself.

In the weeks that followed, she was charged in connection with the incident. After learning that the case would proceed despite Lewis not pressing charges, Caroline died by suicide.

Caroline was one of the United Kingdom's best-known television presenters.

She hosted a number of popular shows, including The X Factor, I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! spin-off shows, and Love Island.

She also competed on Strictly Come Dancing, won a BAFTA, and appeared in the West End as Roxie Hart in Chicago.
