Denise Richards is peeling back the curtain to give us a closer look into her tumultuous marriage to Aaron Phypers. The couple is currently estranged. In a recent appearance on The Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg Show, Richards revealed that she was unknowingly paying the salary, and ultimately the severance, of a woman her husband was having an affair with.

"A woman he was having an affair with at his work, an employee. I paid her payroll, her severance," Richards said. "I don't know how she looked me in the face."
Sadly, Richards wasn't aware of Phypers alleged infidelity during their relationship. She claims that was something she discovered following their separation. Still, there's no doubt that Phypers actions hurt just as much, regardless of where they were in their relationship at the time.
Richards' latest claims come almost a year after she was granted a five-year restraining order against her estranged husband. The restraining order came after a drawn-out legal battle where Denise had accused Phypers of physical abuse.
The restraining order is set to expire on Nov. 7, 2030, per Fox News.
"Richards testified in court at the time that Phypers attempted to destroy her reputation during the fallout of their relationship, and, at one point, allegedly leaked nude photos of the 'Drop Dead Gorgeous' actress after she claimed he stole her laptop," Fox News reports.
Denise Richards' Court Filings Detailed the Extent of the Alleged Abuse
Richards previously detailed the extent of abuse she allegedly endured at the hands of Phypers. The information was provided in documents she filed on July 16, 2025,
"Throughout our relationship, Aaron would frequently violently choke me, violently squeeze my head with both hands, tightly squeeze my arms, violently slap me in my face and head, aggressively slam my head into the bathroom towel rack, threaten to kill me, hold me down with his knee on my back to the point where I would have to plead with him to get off me so that he would not kill me and hack into my laptop and phone and download all of my text messages," Richards claimed, via Fox News.
Phypers and Richards are currently locked in a bitter divorce battle.
