There is little doubt that the Reacher actor is referring to the March 22 incident involving his neighbor, which occurred when Ritchson was riding his green Kawasaki bike near his home in the quiet Nashville suburb of Brentwood with his children. A man named Ronnie Taylor confronted him about the noise.
What Happened to Alan Ritchson?
After Taylor asked Ritchson to stop speeding down the street, an argument broke out, during which the actor was alleged to have struck his neighbor at least four times in front of his children.
Taylor reported the altercation to the police, claiming Ritchson punched him in the face and kicked him. Taylor said that after Ritchson fell off his bike, he got back up, and tried to run the neighbor off. The neighbor said he has bruises and swelling.
Footage from a body cam Ritchson was wearing revealed a different story. It showed Taylor first attempting to block Ritchson in the middle of the street. He then got in the actor's face. That's when Ritchson laid down his bike and shoved the neighbor to the ground.
Ritchson then attempted to leave the scene, but the neighbor pushed him off his bike. Ritchson then hit the neighbor in the face and head until the neighbor stopped coming after him.
Authorities opened an investigation into the incident. It was reported that no one would be charged. Police concluded that Ritchson's reaction was self-defense.
Ritchson Also Had Another Announcement
In his message, Ritchson had a message for Reacher fans.
"Here we are in the ADR booth for the very last time for Season 4 of Reacher," he said. "We are dunzos. This thing is going to be hitting the airwaves very soon. Best season yet."
In the caption, he added, "This is, without a doubt the most gripping season yet. I think we hit our stride. Firing on all cylinders... as it were."
While Ritchson hasn't said much else regarding the incident, Taylor has had plenty to say, according to the Page Six.
He described the incident, saying, "Then, on Sunday, when I was cleaning my bike outside my house, he rode past once, twice, and on the second time, I walked out in front of him and said, 'You got to stop. Someone's going to get hurt.'"
He added, "Then it escalated quite quickly from there. I did push him because he was coming toward me on his bike."
The only other remark Ritchson has made about the incident was an Instagram post featuring a quote from Napoleon: "Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake."
