Since their formation in 2000, Texas' own Randy Rogers Band has been cementing themselves as one of the hardest working country groups around. Their sound is rooted in traditional Texas country and is crafted as much for smoky old honky tonks and dancehalls as it is for arena stages.
Their latest record, Nothing Shines Like Neon, earned them their highest rank on the country charts to date. Featuring collaborations with Alison Krauss, Jerry Jeff Walker and Jamey Johnson, the highly acclaimed album is a treasure-trove of pure country cuts.
In our second installment of our ongoing On The Road series, Randy shared some of the songs that he and his bandmates find themselves turning up between tour stops.
"We listen to music every single night," the band tells Wide Open Country. "What we listen to depends on who has the remote. Our band and crew's musical knowledge and tastes are all pretty diverse but very solid so we're always introducing each other to music that is new to somebody on the bus. Some nights it's classic country and some nights punk - pretty symbolic of our life on the road."
