WOC is proud to exclusively premiere "How Dare Me," by the talented Rachel Holt. Love is a force beyond control, and can leave you saying or doing things that you ultimately regret. Rachel Holt reckons with the power of love in her new single, and croons about how it's shined an exposing light on what she did.
The song was described to WOC as, "an unapologetic anthem of self-reflection, capturing the raw emotions of regret and empowerment that come with owning one's mistakes and ultimately rising stronger." It's a very apt description that nails the hammer on the head.
The tender tune was penned by the mighty singer-songwriter Dan Tyminski. The 14-time Grammy Award Winner wrote a song that Rachel Holt fell in love with and couldn't refuse to cut.
You can listen to "How Dare Me" by Rachel Holt below. It'll be available on streaming platforms tomorrow.
Working With Dan Tyminski Is A Full Circle Moment For Rachel Holt
Recording a song written by Dan Tyminski is a full circle moment for Rachel Holt. In a statement from the singer shared to WOC, she delves into how the bluegrass artist has worked with a relative of hers.
"I loved this song as soon as I heard it," Holt shared. "Dan Tyminski was one of the writers on this song, and he actually recorded a song with Union Station that my grandfather wrote years ago."
"I thought that the connection was so cool for me to be able to record a song that Dan wrote!" she exclaimed.
"This song really describes what it feels like when you begin to fall in love with someone, maybe a little too soon. It describes the excitement that comes with that and is a catchy song that also hits you in the heart!"
Not only did Holt like the song, but the personal connection was too much to ignore. The Tyminski and Holt families have now recorded a song written by each other. I wonder if they'll keep up this new tradition.
