Prom is one of the most memorable moments from high school: the dates, the clothes, the nerves and the pictures. This cute couple is sure to remember their special night after a huge tornado touched down just before they headed to the dance -- and they caught it on camera.
Ali and Charlie were about to head out to the dance in Wray, Colorado when Ali's mom snapped a picture of the two. Just off in the distance, a massive tornado begins to form and take center stage in the picture.
The picture spread quickly over social media as school officials delayed the prom to make sure nobody would be in danger. The dance eventually took place later in the evening.
The tornado in question was the strongest of four that tore across parts of Colorado last Saturday, about 100 miles east of Denver and near the Nebraska border. In this picture, the tornado formed about three miles away and reached wind speeds of over 130 miles per hour.
Residents of the tiny Colorado farming community got together to clean up debris from the tornados the next day.
