Video Premiere: Kelsey Lamb Reflects on the Good Times on 'When I Remember You'

Country singer-songwriter Kelsey Lamb looks back fondly on an old flame on "When I Remember You," a tender reflection on lost love in which the passionate moments outweigh the heartbreak.

Lamb recorded a stripped-down version of the song for a new acoustic performance video, which Wide Open Country is premiering today.

"I collaborated on this video with one of my good friends, Logen Christopher at Stormlight Pictures. I'm excited to see the direction we put with this video come to life," Lamb tells Wide Open Country. "Our goal was to keep things super simple and more of a performance piece but that's probably my favorite part. I think it makes the video feel so raw and vulnerable and that's exactly what I wanted when we started discussing the plan for this video."
Lamb says the simplicity of the video and the acoustic performance brings out the full emotion of the song.
"Normally, video shoots can take an entire day or more. But when I get to work with Logen, things always seem to come together so simply. We were able to capture exactly what I wanted in under an hour at Logen's studio. Originally, I was nervous about how the simplicity would translate but I think it actually came out unapologetically real. That's all I want for any of my content," Lamb says. "I'm thrilled to have the acoustic version of the song finally out in the world. I've always thought that a stripped version of a track brings out the emotion that can sometimes get tucked away inside the full production of a song. Sometimes you just have to bring it back to the basics of how a song was written in the first place."

In addition to her singing career, Lamb is also a talented actress who's appeared in the Hallmark movies Christmas in Homestead and Traces. Her holiday album Christmas With Kelsey was featured in the Hallmark movie Christmas Wedding Planner and UPtv's A Very Country Christmas.
