Ever since the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie back in February, authorities have been scrambling to find out information on what happened.
But they mostly came up short. Despite looking at video doorbell footage, combing through every square inch of her home, nothing was found.
But there's been a breakthrough in her case. According to the International Business Times, a confidential anonymous tip has revealed a possible "grave" location.
And, in a heartbreaking turn of events, it points to Mexico. The tip says that Nancy Guthrie was buried in an unmarked grave near the city of Nogales. The city is located near the US-Mexico border, and is over 70 miles south from her Tucson, AZ home.
The leader of the "search collective" Buscando Corazónes Nogales (Looking for Hearts Nogales), Ramona Guadalupe Ayala Ortiz, confirmed the tip. An unidentified caller had contacted the organisation, and they had specific geographical information for them.
Ortiz explained to local outlets, "we received an anonymous call telling us that the woman's [Nancy Guthrie] remains were in the Mariposa area - in a grave over a stream." The organisation had apparently previously made discoveries in the area, meaning that they are well versed with its rocky terrain.

Despite initial searches for the grave of Nancy Guthrie not yielding results, they are not giving up hope. That's because of the specific nature of the Mariposa area. It's a really remote place, so there's a lot of ground to cover, and a lot of dangers to consider.
The search effort also got some help from the Sonora State Commission for the Search of Missing Persons. Due to the sensitive nature of the investigation, armed guards were also deployed to help things go smoothly.
There Are Still a Lot of Unknowns in the Nancy Guthrie Case
But, unfortunately, despite this tip possible leading to a breakthrough, things are still unclear. No one knows an exact timeline of events.
As we reported back in March, the investigation had pretty much come to a standstill. And that's where it still remains today, other than this little glimmer of hope.
We hope that Guthrie's family can get some reassurance if her body is found. Our thoughts and prayers go out to them.
