MrBeast’s Company Accused of Harassment by Former Employee: “I Was Still Bleeding, and I Just Had To Show Up”

The popular YouTuber has been under fire several times for his company's alleged bad treatment of employees.

A former employee is suing popular YouTuber MrBeast's company, Beast Industries. According to the New York Post, this comes after she was fired from her social media job upon returning from maternity leave.

But that isn't all. Plaintiff Lorrayne Mavromatis has said in the lawsuit that MrBeast violated federal law. She says that MrBeastYoutube LLC and GameChanger 24/7 LLC didn't give her proper protected maternity leave. She said she worked "nonstop" after her baby's birth. Mavromatis also claimed she was made to work whilst in the delivery room: "I was still bleeding, and I just had to show up."

She also filed a complaint with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. She has alleged that there is a culture of sexual harassment and gender bias in MrBeast's company.

However, a spokesperson for Beast Industries has said that all Mavromatis wanted to do is "clout chase". They said that the complaint was built on "deliberate misrepresentations and categorically false statements." Beast Industries also shared Slack messages where Mavromatis had apparently cancelled meetings. They also showed screenshots showing that MrBeast had given her documents which she signed. These documents showed Mavromatis' signature on documents confirming her understanding of the company's Family and Medical Leave Act-compliant policies.

MrBeast Has Come Under Fire Before

But, this isn't the first time MrBeast or his company have come under fire for their workplace environment.

You've probably heard of the Beast Games series on Amazon Prime Video. It became a bit of a phenomenon when it first came out for its similarities to a real-life Squid Games. Well, the life-or-death situations in the hit Korean show were alleged to have also happened in the MrBeast rendition.

Or, so "at least five" contestants have claimed, according to NBC News in September 2024. They say that they were subject to "unreasonable" and "unsafe" working conditions whilst being participants on the show. The lawsuit they filed also said they were "shamelessly exploited."

The lawsuit continued that the contestants were allegedly "penned into enclosed spaces, under conditions where they were underfed, overtired, and competing in stressful and exhausting challenge[s] for a cash prize that could change their lives."
