A popular electric toaster oven has been recalled due to a severe shock hazard. A recall was listed with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.

Which Toaster Oven Is Affected?
The toaster oven that's affected is the Panasonic Electric Toaster Oven. It is described as being made of stainless steel, with a temperature knob located on the bottom of the device.
The toaster itself has six cooking menus with pre-set buttons, alongside a digital timer and temperature settings.
The toasters were sold on Amazon, Costco, Panasonic.com, and other online platforms nationwide from October 2024 to April 2026. Around 15,000 units were affected in all, with 11,500 being for the US and the remaining being for Canada.
They were recalled because there were four reports of outlets or circuit breakers being tripped. The product poses a severe fire and shock hazard. According to Panasonic's website, "a protective fiberglass sleeve may not fully cover the cord, creating a potential risk of electric shock or fire."

What Should I Do if My Product Is Affected?
The first thing you should do is immediately unplug your toaster oven—because it constitutes a serious risk. Per Panasonic's website, you should also ensure you store it "away from children, pets, and flammable materials."
The next thing you should do is prepare yourself to receive a refund. You should first visit the recall website and input your model number; you will also be asked about some personal details like your name and shipping address and where you purchased the product.
If you have it, you should also supply your relevant proof of purchase.
You will then receive a shipping label for your product, where you can ship it to Panasonic in order to receive a refund.
