A popular soup being sold at Whole Foods has been recalled over a dangerous undeclared allergen. As reported by Yahoo!News, the affected soup may contain shrimp.

Kettle Cuisine of Lynn in Massachusetts has recalled its Whole Foods Market branded Minestrone Soup because of the undelcared allergen. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has explained that shrimp or other allergens could cause "a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction" if people who are allergic consume it.

More specifically, the recall affects the minestrone soup which was sold in seventeen states. The soup was sold both online and at stores.

The affected states are: Alabama; Connecticut; District of Columbia; Florida; Georgia; Massachusetts; Maryland; Maine; Mississippi; North Carolina; New Hampshire; New Jersey; New York; Pennsylvania; Rhode Island; South Carolina; Tennessee; Virginia.

The specifics regarding the Whole Foods minestrone soup is as follows. It's important to note that the use by date can be found on the top rim of the soup, as in with some other similar products.

This Comes After Another Whole Foods Recall Earlier This Month

But, this isn't the only recall from Whole Foods this month. As reported by the Independent, there was a similar unreported allergen in a brand of noodles sold at the store.

The specific affected brand was Fly By Jing's creamy sesame noodles, according to the voluntary recall notice. The details of the affected products are as follows:

Similarly to the minestrone soup case, customers were also urged to return the product for a full refund.

Whole Foods added in the voluntary recall notice that Fly By Jing has "strengthened allergen-control procedures with the third-party manufacturer."
