A popular steakhouse headquartered in Nashville has abruptly closed its doors. As reported by Yahoo!Finance, O'Charley's company-owned restaurants will not be re-opening.
Employees were given the news that their final day would be Wednesday, September 9, with many locations shuttering their doors for the final time at 8pm sharp. Despite the news, they were given little to no explanation as to why this was happening.
But, just like how workers weren't told, there has been no public-facing response from the company, either. Despite efforts from a local TV station to contact managers at steakhouse locations in Tennessee, the only response they themselves had got was that their stores were shutting. No corporate announcement has been made.
Per The Manchester Times, one Manchester, TN employee was reportedly only given one day's notice before their store shut down.
However, it has been clarified that some steakhouse locations are still operating - for now. One franchised O'Charley's in Niles, Ohio, will remain open until September 27, before closing permanently itself.
This also comes as the social media for the steakhouse has been gutted and deactivated - including their Facebook and Instagram. Their website, which is still operational, has had no updates.

People are Mourning the Loss of the Beloved Steakhouse
When people heard about the sudden closure of the steakhouse, they
posted on social media about it. Commenters in Florence, Kentucky lamented the sudden nature of the closures."What!! I hadn't heard they were closing," one commenter wrote. "I wouldn't have thought it would be the last [meal at O'Charley's] for me... Didn't even get to have one final dinner with the hubby there," they lamented.
Another commenter wrote, "The day we ate there was our last, never would have guessed."
Other commenters noted that they had gone to the steakhouse on September 9, and had thought things seemed a little unusual. One wrote, "They already taking orders out of food over 30 mins ago," with another writing, "I left there a little bit ago, they locked the doors at 7 because they were running out of food."
This is a real loss for steak lovers everywhere. Here's hoping the stores can be replaced by a place of similar quality!
