As reported by TMZ, the influencer was taken into custody for misdemeanor battery. He and his boyfriend, Alexander Green, allegedly beat up a man back in November 2024.
Shamar McCoy Allegedly Went to the Man's Home To Attack Him
Documents detailing the incident show that McCoy and Green allegedly paid a visit to Quentin McDowell. The two argued over the phone. However, the relationship between McCoy and McDowell is unclear.
McDowell told police that the couple did not come alone. McCoy and Green were accompanied by a group of friends.
McCoy then allegedly assaulted Alexander by punching him repeatedly in the face with a closed fist. The influencer then threw Alexander to the ground and began kicking him.
The Instagram star continued to attack Alexander. The victim said someone recorded the altercation and uploaded it to Instagram. Alexander showed the clip to the authorities.
Another witness told police that McCoy also allegedly kicked Alexander in the head. The group then left the scene in a burgundy Jaguar SUV.
McCoy Is Also a Reality TV Star
McCoy, who suffers from scoliosis, was taken into custody by police yesterday, Aug. 3. He was released a few hours later after he posted a $2,000 bond.
The influencer, who has over 400,000 followers on Instagram, is currently starring in the reality show Bad Boys Dominican Republic.
And no, the series is not related to the film franchise featuring Will Smith. However, the streaming show does feature plenty of slapping. It is the third season of the Bad Girls Club spin-off, which streams on the Zeus Network. It revolves around the dramatic lives of young men living together in different locales. Violence and shouting are part of the show's appeal.
McCoy also performs under the stage name Big Marco. Ironically, the rapper's latest single is titled "Don't Get Beat Up."
