A Recall Was Issued Over Potential Foreign Matter Contamination

As reported by the New York Post, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration issued a voluntary recall on Tuesday, Sep. 15, over potential foreign matter contamination.

Consumers reported finding small stones and other hard objects in the cashew inclusions of pints of So Delicious Dairy Free Salted Caramel Cluster Non-Dairy Frozen Dessert. Details about the complaints remain unclear.

Danone US, which owns the So Delicious brand, has been working with retailers to pull the affected pints from store shelves. The product was sold in major stores such as Target, Walmart, Meijer, and Kroger.

What Are the Details?

The pints affected by the recall have best-by dates on or before April 3, 2028, and feature SKU "136603" and UPC "744473476138." No other flavors are affected by the recall.

Anyone experiencing health concerns after consuming the ice cream should contact their doctor immediately. Customers should throw away the affected pints or return them to the place of purchase for a refund.

Direct any questions about the recall to the So Delicious Dairy Free Consumer Care Line at 1-833-367-8975. You can also visit the So Delicious website here for more information.

This recall follows a summer of seemingly endless food recalls. Back in May, Straus Family Creamery recalled its organic line of ice cream in 17 states due to the possible presence of metal fragments.

"Food safety and product quality remain top priorities for Straus Family Creamery," the company said in a statement. "The company is taking this action out of an abundance of caution and has implemented appropriate corrective actions."
