The son of Tom Hanks you might expect to get in a heated exchange with someone did exactly that, confronting a comedian at a convention over the weekend.

Indeed, actor, musician, and boss-level nepo-baby Chet Hanks exchanged words with comedian and actor Eric André at ComplexCon, a "convergence-culture festival" in Los Angeles. Footage shared by TMZ showed the 36-year-old The Surreal Life alum tap André, 43, on the shoulder from behind.
The video shows the Street Fighter star flash a grin at Hanks before his demeanor drops. "What's up?" André blurts out before offering his hand.
However, Chester "Chet" Hanks wasn't having any of it, keeping his mitt firmly on the Eric André Show star's shoulder. It's unclear what Hanks said to André next, but whatever it was, it got a rise out of the fan-favorite comedian.
"What'd I say?" André pleads with Hanks. Then, both celebrities remove their sunglasses.
From there, things spiral out of control. Hanks and André proceeded to get into a heated shouting match that totally would've gotten physical. However, André's security detail stepped in, allowing the 2 Broke Girls alum to escape unscathed from the mighty hands of Chester.
Thank god that Eric André surely avoided the thrashing of a lifetime.
Chet Hanks Explains His Side of Heated Exchange with Eric André
However, Hanks, who reportedly has a long-standing beef with the lovable comedian, didn't stop there. The keyboard warrior soon found himself in some Instagram comments, giving his totally reliable version of what transpired in the footage.
"Finally ran into @ericf—ingandre," Hanks, who has ventured into country music in the past, wrote, per Page Six. The son of veteran actors Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson then reportedly dragged the comedian for having security at the convention, adding that the "environment makes him uneasy."
"[He] had NO MEMORY WHATSOEVER of trashing me to the media after I outshined him on his show!!" Hanks continued, referring to a 2023 appearance he made on André's program.
"After being sheltered by his security team, [he] began foaming at the mouth and admitted it was because he had a problem with me 'mocking Caribbean culture" when I did my Jamaican accent all those years ago," Chet explained, still unrepenant for co-opting a culture seemingly far removed from his privileged upbringing as humanly possible.
"WHO KNEW that in addition to the brain rot and poop joke humor he is known for, Eric is also such a passionate cultural activist!!! Great running into you Eric!!!!!" the Running Point actor concluded.
Chet Hanks and Eric André's Beef Runs Back to 2023
In fairness, André did put Hanks on blast a few years ago.
"He broke us down," André explained to Rolling Stone back in 2023. "[Chester] stole a motorcycle and rode it around. He almost knocked a bunch of grips and gaffers off their ladders."
After Hanks had a public meltdown about his comments, reportedly calling him a "f—ing weirdo" and a "p—s," the comedian jokingly pushed back at Hanks.
"Guys, everything Chet said about me is a f-ing boldface lie," he wrote on social media, per Page Six. "F—ing liar. And I dare him to take a f—ing DNA test to prove that Tom Hanks is his f—ing father."
For those looking for something more wholesome after this bombastic story, Chet's older brother, Colin Hanks, directed a charming documentary about John Candy called John Candy: I Like Me, which is streaming on Prime.
