It's always pretty sad when a store you loved ends up shutting down. You think you'd never be shopping there again, right? But, that's not always the case. Sometimes, they can come back from the dead...
As reported by Business Wire, it looks like the legendary Party City is making a return to the stage after its tragic shutdown in 2024. But, not unlike a phoenix from the ashes, it's come back in a different but familiar form.
They have partnered with Staples to make their comeback. Their classic party supplies are coming back nationwide in Staples stores, and also on Staples' website.
Marshall Warkentin, the president of Staples Retail, explained the reason for the combination. "Staples has always been focused on making things easy for our customers, and our partnership with Party City takes that promise into new territory. By bringing Party City into Staples stores, we're expanding what customers can accomplish in one place - combining helium balloons and party supplies with our print and marketing services to offer a complete solution for celebrations, from graduations to grand openings and everything in between."
And the "grand (re)opening" of the chain is looking to be a doozy, too. Staples and Party City are celebrating the launch with a slew of different deals, as well as sales.

Party City Originally Shut Down Their Stores in 2024
This comes after Party City unceremoniously shut down all their stores back in 2024.
As reported by the International Business Times, it was a pretty abrupt decision which left staff members in shock. It was announced by the Chief Executive of Party City at the time, Barry Litwin. It was also announced in a way most employees dread: through a video conference call.
He explained at the time, "This is without question the most difficult message I've ever had to deliver. It's really important for you to know that we've done everything possible to try to avoid this outcome. Unfortunately, it's necessary to commence a wind down process immediately."
Well, we're certainly glad such a legendary chain is coming back to us!
