Popeyes Offers Sweet 'n Spicy Wing Flavor Just in Time for Football Season

The flavor is only here for a limited time.

Most everyone enjoys delicious food during a football game, and with football season on the horizon, Popeyes is unveiling a brand new wing flavor. The restaurant chain's sweet 'n spicy wings are the latest addition to the menu.

For the new item, the restaurant is taking its marinated crispy chicken wings and tossing them in a blend of chili, garlic and ginger, says People. The flavor is only here for a limited time, however, and orders of six wings start at $6. The wings are available now at participating Popeyes locations.

The new wings were inspired by all the "sweet and spicy grandmas" in the world, and the restaurant is honoring grandmas on National Grandmother's Day on October 8. On this day, Popeyes restaurants in New York, Los Angeles and New Orleans will give special greeting cards for National Grandmother's Day to customers who purchase a $5 Popeyes gift card. The promotion begins on Sept. 25.

The new wings from Popeyes are just another food item to enjoy as we enter into the fall season. Another popular dish making the rounds this fall is pumpkin pancakes — especially the kind that are inspired by the fictional and idyllic town of Gilmore Girls' Stars Hollow. When it comes to drinks, whiskey fans will certainly appreciate these 10 whiskey apple cider recipes that are absolutely perfect for the fall season.
