Pop Star Says Vintage Showgirl Costume Gave Her "Gross" Rash From Hazardous Materials

The pop star explained that she really enjoyed collecting vintage items of clothing, and also wearing them - but it came with a cost.

Everyone loves a little bit of vintage in their life. Whether you've genuinely lived through that period and want a bit of nostalgia, or just adore how things looked back then, it's fair to want to reconnect with the days of yore.

And pop star Slayyyter has a bit of an unusual vintage collection, per People. She decided to bring the looks to her appearance on Late Night with Seth Myers whilst going into detail about her special collection of showgirl outfits.

The 30-year-old singer is known for wearing extravagant outfits in her videos - which is why this collection spoke to her. She spoke about one recent outfit she got which didn't exactly go down well... with her body.

"I recently got this old showgirl costume from Italy," she explained. "But it was originally from this cabaret in France." Fancy, right? Well, yes, but...

"They used to be made out of hazardous materials, so I wore it in a music video, and it gave me a rash on my back." Ouch! Now, you're probably wondering what exactly might have been the cause of that rash. She thinks she has an idea - "They have like, lead paint on them... It was really gross."

The Pop Star Enjoys a Unique Look

The pop star has opened up before about the types of fashion that she enjoys most, as well as how her collection has grown.

"Things that speak to me are always interesting fabrics or textiles, or things that have a beating to them. I love a twirly silk bias dress that flows. I'm always buying vintage silk dresses. But lately, I've been really into true vintage - almost antique or 1930s pieces. Or showgirl costumes too..."

Sounds like quite the collection, right?

One of her most recent iconic looks came from this year's New York Fashion Week. The pop star was donning a red button-up, denim shorts and boots.

"It was so cool," she recalled. "I felt like I was in a movie or something!"

While her collection must certainly be something to behold, we have to ask this - will she endeavor to wear any more lead paint dresses, or not?
